Govt unconcerned about people’s problems, says Mushahid Monday, July 21, 2008 By Our Correspondent LAHORE PML-Q General Secretary Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed has said that the present government has no interest in addressing the grievances of the people and it has failed miserably in resolving public issues. Talking to The News on Sunday, the PML-Q leader said the likely increase in petroleum prices showed that the present government was bankrupt and the rulers were paying no heed to give relief to the people. He said the recent address of the prime minister had nothing for the poor. The rulers are spending lavishly on their personal tours and party meetings whereas the public problems are increasing day by day,” he said, adding that some 53 members of the PPP went to Dubai to attend the party meeting and stayed in a seven star hotel. He said some 85 people performed Umrah on government expenditures, which clearly showed the rulers were not concerned with public problems. However, the PML-Q leader said, his party was ready to cooperate with the government for the welfare of people but government should also sincerely work for solving the ongoing crises.
