ISLAMABAD: The investigation into the mysterious demise of NAB investigating officer Kamran Faisal has begun. The police have taken his computer into their custody, however the slain officer's laptop is still missing.
According to Poly Clinic Hospital spokesman Dr Sharif Astoori the initial postmortem report indicated that Kamran Faisal committed suicide and no signs of torture were found on his body.
Dr Atoori said that the initial report suggests that the slain officer was not hanged by anyone and he himself committed suicide.
The sources said that a three-member team of doctors inspected the body and the contents found from his body were sent to Lahore for chemical analysis whose forensic report is likely to be obtained in a week.
The sources claimed that a sub-inspector of NAB gave information regarding mysterious demise of Kamran to police and his room was also opened before the arrival of police team.
The police sources said that the NAB official’s act was unlawful, adding that the laptop of Kamran is also missing.
IG police Bani Ameen has also inspected the room, bathroom and other places.
The sources said that FIR has not yet been registered and no one has yet contacted the police to get the case registered. Only a report has been filed regarding demise of Kamran Faisal in Secretariat police station.
Islamabad Deputy Commissioner Aamir Ali has appointed AC Secretariat Noman Yousuf the inquiry officer who would record statements of Kamran’s friends, hostel staff and NAB officers.
