Dacoits’ firing on vehicle kills 3 in Taxila

TAXILA: At least three commuters were shot dead when they came under fire by dacoits attempting to kidnap them here on early Tuesday.
Unknown dacoits tried to kidnap people commuting towards Taxila in a ‘Carry’ vehicle and opened fire when the vehicle’s driver attempted to flee the scene, Geo T.V. reported.
Three people were died on the spot; CCPO Rawalpindi Rao Iqbal confirmed GEO T.V. adding that heavy contingent of police has been sent to the area in search of the bandits.
Two passersby also received bullet injuries and were rushed to the local hospital, he added.
All the three deceased were the residents of Rawalpindi and were going to Taxila for some personal business.
The residents of the area soon after the incident rushed the scene and blocked the road for traffic in protest.
