Implementable projects necessary to overcome water shortage: PM

MULTAN: Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani said that there is a need for beginning immediate work on implementable projects to overcome water shortage instead of controversial projects. The prime minister said this while addressing at a dinner of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry in Multan. Yousuf Raza Gilani said that there are prospects for promotion of tourism in Multan so maximum facilities should be given to the tourists. He said that big industries would be promoted by the projects of extension of the airport in Multan, Faisalabad-Multan motorway, construction of the bridge at River Chenab near Head Mohammadwala and road infrastructure in Multan. Earlier, president Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce Tanveer Shaikh said in his address that water shortage has been made in such a way that famine mey be faced in coming days.
