Mumbai to miss Tendulkar in second tie too

Mumbai Indians captain Sachin Tendulkar is yet to recuperate from his groin injury and hence will not be able to play in the second IPL tie of his team against Chennai Super Kings scheduled to take place at the MA Chidambaram stadium in Chennai tomorrow. "I am not too sure whether Tendulkar will play in our match tomorrow," South African all-rounder Shaun Pollock was quoted as saying to the media after a practice session in Chennai. Tendulkar was not available for the first match too against the Bangalore Royal Challengers on Sunday where his team lost by five wickets. Pollock further informed that the physiotherapist of the team will supervise the master batsman. “We are not pushing him since it is a long tournament. He is a key player in our team's scheme of things and we do not want to rush him." Pollock said elaborating on the need for Tendulkar‘s presence in the team in the latter part of the tournament. When queried whether Tendulkar’s unavailability would pressurise Sri Lankan Sanath Jayasuriya to perform, he said, "He is in a good touch and he will continue with his form. If he gets going in the initial seven overs, there will be good score on board. He knows how to handle Muttiah (Muralidaran)." Tendulkar has not been able to play any cricket after he was ruled with the injury following the first Test against South Africa at Chennai last month.
