Lahore win Punjab Cycling

LAHORE: Lahore District won the championship trophy while Shakil Amin of Lahore was declared the best cyclist of the 45th Punjab Cycling Championship 2008 here at the Velodrome here on Sunday. President Punjab Cycling Association Ch. Kamran Amin was the chief guest of the concluding ceremony who gave away the prizes to the winners. As many as six finals were competed on the concluding day. In the 20km individual time trial race Shakil Amin (Lahore) stood first, Jaffar Iqbal (Rahim Yar Khan) finished second and M Ali Butt remained third. In the 30km Road Race, Shakil Amin (Lahore) won gold, Miran Bauksh (Kasur) won silver and Waqas Mehboob (Lahore) won bronze. In Elimination Race, M Shafiq won third gold medal, Shakil Amin finished second and Waqas Mehboob stood third. In 1000 m team pursuit, Rahim Yar Khan stood first, Lahore finished second and Multan remained third. In 4km team pursuit, Lahore finished first, Rahim Yar Khan second and Kasur finished third.
