Indian Hockey Federation officials suspended

NEW DELHI: The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) has suspended all officials of the Indian Hockey Federation (IHF) for corruption scandal and decided to nominate a five-member ad hoc body. The action has closed 15-year long tenure of P.S. Gill. The unanimous decision was taken at a meeting of the IOA’s Executive Committee, convened to discuss the future of hockey administration following the disclosure of the scandal. IOA president Suresh Kalmadi was authorised to nominate a five-member ad hoc body till such time the “issues are resolved.” Kalmadi said IHF secretary K. Jothikumaran who was called to listen his viewpoint didn’t turned up. Meanwhile, Jothikumaran has termed it an undemocratic decision.
