PCB accounts details : Senate Sports Committee convenes
ISLAMABAD: The Senate Standing Committee on Sports has convened a special meeting on May 8 (Thursday) to discuss the accounts of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). The meeting has been called on the requisition submitted by four senators – Enver Baig, Tahir Mushahdi, Rehana Baloch and Haroon Khan. Sources in Senate secretariat told Daily Times on Friday that the meeting would discuss the details of PCB accounts with specific focus on deposits of the PCB from December 31 2004 to May 2008. “The senators would like know the details of the board’s monthly budget from January 2005 to May 2008, information regarding banks where the PCB has deposited its funds, the criteria for the selection of financial institutions and return on accounts on annual bases,” sources added. It is pertinent to mention that this requisition was made just two days after sports committee debated the details of assets of the board in a separate meeting. The members of the committee wanted to know each and everything regarding the PCB’s financial affairs in that meeting. However, acting chairman of the committee Senator Abdul Rahim Mandokhel preferred not to entertain those items that had not been included in the agenda.
