Adam Lambert time travels to early 1980s for 'For Your Entertainment' album cover
Last week brought the video for Adam Lambert's "Time for Miracles," which features the "American Idol" runner-up crooning in the midst of an apocalypse (the song is on the sound track for upcoming end-of-the-world-as-we-know-it flick "2012").
This week, we can see where Lambert landed after the mayhem and destruction - in his own distant and peculiar galaxy, circa 1983.
The cover art for his new album, "For Your Entertainment," features the singer at his glammy best, but with a distinctly retro look to all that eye shadow and feathers. His look seems to be the love child of a 3-way tryst between Boy George, Adam Ant, and Ziggy Stardust, with a little Michael Jackson thrown in (the glove).
The image doesn't particularly match the mainstream love anthem vibe of "Time for Miracles," the only track that's been released so far. But Lambert proved his versatility on "Idol," making Led Zeppelin's "Whole Lotta Love" as convincing as Tears for Fears' "Mad World," and the album, which also includes a track written by Lady Gaga, is sure to show off his range.
"For Your Entertainment" is due out November 23.

Jaswant Book Ban Notice Issued By SC To Gujrat Govt On
NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Tuesday issued notice to Gujarat government on a petition filed by Jaswant Singh challenging the ban on his book
Jaswant Singh’s book on Pakistan founder Mohammad Ali Jinnah.
The Gujarat government had banned Jaswant Singh’s controversial book on Jinnah alleging it defamed Sardar Patel. The hearing is set for September 8.
A bench comprising Justice Altamas Kabir and Cyriac Joseph asked the state government’s counsel to seek instruction on the issue
Senior Advocates Fali S Nariman and Soli Sorabjee, appearing for the veteran politician, contended that banning of the book violated the fundamental rights of its author and publisher.
Banning the book earlier this month, the state government in a statement said, “Jaswant Singh’s book questions role of Sardar Patel during the partition of India as well as his patriotic spirit. This is an attempt to tarnish the image of Patel who is considered the architect of modern united India.”
“It is a bid to defame Patel by distorting historical facts,” it charged. “So, the state government has decided to ban the book with immediate effect for wider public interest,” it said.
“As per the ban, there cannot be sale, distribution or publication of the book in the state,” it said.
The ban on Jaswant Singh’s book came after he was expelled from the party.
The 71-year-old politician challenged the state government’s notification alleging that the authority banned the book ‘Jinnah — India, Partition, Independence’ arbitrarily and without going through its contents. It amounts to violation of his fundamental rights of speech and expression, Singh said.
“Fundamental right of freedom of speech has been sought to be taken away by the Gujarat government by banning the book through a hasty and arbitrary notification,” Singh, who has written ten books, said in his petition.
Terming the ban as illegal, the eight-time MP submitted that the book was based on “historical facts” and five years of extensive research and that it could not be proscribed on the state government’s “specious” plea.
Singh said the step against his book amounted to “banning thinking” and likened it to the one taken against noted author Salman Rushdie for his controversial work ‘Satanic Verses’, PTI reported.

Katie Price Bans Harvey From Pete's Show
Katie Price ordered all footage of her son Harvey be removed from Peter Andre's latest TV show.
The glamour model angered producers of 'Peter Andre: Going It Alone' by insisting she didn't want any scenes including disabled Harvey - who is partially sighted and suffers from hormone imbalances, and is her child from a previous relationship - being broadcast.
A spokesperson for Katie, 31, denied her actions were borne out of "bitterness", saying: "Because of his disabilities Harvey is prone to mood swings and Katie wants to be in control of what is shown. "If he's with her she's in control of what happens."
While Harvey won't be appearing in Peter's programme, footage of a party held for his seventh birthday appears in a trailer for Katie's own solo reality TV show 'What Katie Did Next'.
A source close the former couple said: "The kids are becoming the real battleground in the divorce. With both Katie and Peter having separate TV reality shows, the screen is becoming the place in which the custody battle is waged."
Peter, 36, and Katie also have two children together, Junior, four, and two-year-old Princess Tiaamii.

Peter has raised stepson Harvey as his own child and is devastated that Katie has forced him to be removed from his show - which airs tonight British TV channel ITV 2.

x P M Musharraf should face the music in Pakistan like a man
Islamabad, Aug.19 (ANI): A columnist with Pakistan’s Dawn newspaper has said that former president general Pervez Musharraf should be man enough to come back to Pakistan and face the music for his alleged misdemeanours while in power.
According to Kamran Shafi, it is extremely critical that a general of an army whose brass hats consider Pakistan their inherited fiefdom, is tried, and hopefully convicted for rebellion against an elected government, and sentenced to a term in prison like any other person who has violated the law.
“My advice to the `Commando’ (as Musharraf has been known) will be to come back to the country and face the music like a man. He has badmouthed ZAB (Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto) much, and far too frequently when he ruled the roost, once going to the extent of calling him ‘the worst thing to have happened to Pakistan’! Well, let us see if he is half the man that Bhutto was,” says Shafi in his article for the paper.
He further goes on to say that Pakistanis and the international community must not forget the tribulations of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, who though elected, was thrown out of office by the army on the orders of Musharraf and his supporters, treated quite disgracefully, locked up in Attock Fort before being taken in shackles and chains to Karachi to stand trial for that so-called hijacking which many today say was a fraud played out by the ‘agencies’ to provide grounds for the removal of a constitutional government.
Sharif, he says attempted to come back to Pakistan (from Saudi Arabia) after being expressly allowed by the Supreme Court, but was sent back most shamefully and in disgraceful fashion.

And while there are over 20 new shows rolling out this year, we're just as excited about our favorite established series returning. Here's what we can't wait to watch again:
Sharukh Says he will cut back on US visits
NEW DELHI - Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan said Tuesday he will cut back on visits to the United States, especially with his family, after he was questioned by immigration officials at a New York-area airport.
Khan was taken aside at Newark's Liberty International Airport on Friday for what officials said was routine questioning. They denied he was formally detained, saying the incident lasted barely more than an hour and was prolonged only because his bag had been lost by the airline.
But the questioning set off outrage in India, where politicians, sports celebrities and film stars regularly receive VIP treatment at airports. Angry fans burned a U.S. flag and protested what they saw as ill-treatment of a beloved star, and politicians called for an investigation.
The Muslim actor was promoting his latest film, "My Name is Khan," about racial profiling after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks.
Khan told reporters Tuesday after returning to Mumbai that the incident had been "blown out of proportion." But he said the questioning — which included requests for the names of people who could vouch for him — embarrassed him.
